When a person loses their ability to handle their own finances as a result of a traumatic brain injury it is a very serious matter and the Public Guardianship office and a Receiver of that person's money and property become involved in order to protect that person and ensure the monies are invested and 'spent wisely'.
To take away the rights of a person to handle their own financial affairs, deal with their own money, deal with legal matters, is a very serious decision and it is vital that the correct medical evidence is obtained.
