In July 2001, an investigation was launched into the activities of Dr Andrew Holton, consultant paediatrician at the Leicester Royal Infirmary NHS Trust. Dr Holton stands accused of misdiagnosing epilepsy in hundreds of children and prescribing dangerous drugs in one of the worst cases of misdiagnosis and inappropriate treatment with anti-epileptic medication. Alexander Harris are representing over 160 children and the interests of the steering committee: The Leicester Epilepsy Carers and Parents Concern Group.
