Specialist Personal Injury team wins compensation for victims of salmonella food poisoning

Rachel Eastwood of the specialist personal injury team has successfully settled personal injury claims for seven people affected by Salmonella food poisoning.
The seven people had all eaten sandwiches from the same sandwich shop in Liverpool, near to where they worked.
They suffered from nausea, vomiting and diahorrea after eating the sandwiches, as well as severe stomach cramps, and were admitted to hospital to be rehydrated.
Symptoms lasted for periods of several days, up to six months.
The outbreak was investigated by the environmental health department at Liverpool City Council, and the shop's owner was convicted of six offences of selling unfit food and two offences of failing to comply with Food Hygiene Regulations.
The claims settled for between £500 and £3500.
Rachel Eastwood of the specialist personal injury team, acting for the clients, said:
"I am delighted to have won compensation for these victims of salmonella food poisoning who have suffered from various symptoms and deserve to be compensated for their distress."
