Recent research shows that 70% of drivers regularly break the speed limit.

Research undertaken in the last 12 months suggests that up to 74% of drivers in built up areas are likely to break the speed limit. The survey was commissioned by Mori, in conjunction with the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM).

Jonathan Betts, Partner and personal injury solicitor at leading health law specialists Alexander Harris Solicitors said:

"In the last twelve months I have noticed a significant increase in claims relating to road traffic accidents. In particular, claims involving motorcyclists who have been knocked off their bikes, and pedestrians who have been knocked down and injured by speeding drivers.

Unfortunately many of my cases include fatal injuries including amputations, brain and spinal injuries and crushing injuries. I hope that the research conducted by Mori will help reduce the risk of fatal accidents on the roads."
