The Coroner for Merseyside, Mr Andre Rebello, will today open the Inquest into the death of Luke Winston-Jones. The Inquest will then be adjourned and a full hearing will be scheduled for a later date.
Muiris Lyons, Partner at Alexander Harris who are representing Ruth Winston-Jones said:
"Ruth is pleased that there is going to be a formal Inquest into Luke's death."
"Now that the case is the subject of a Coroner's Inquest it would not be appropriate for Ruth or anyone else connected with Luke and his family to comment further to the media on the issues it will address."
'A celebration of Luke's life'
Luke's funeral will take place at 12pm on Saturday 20th November 2004 at St Beuno's Church in Aberffraw, Anglesey.
Luke's family has asked that his funeral be referred to as a 'celebration of his life' and that attendees to the service do not wear black, as Luke liked bright colours.
