A clinical study initially carried out by Sheffield University is now being conducted by Parexel - the company involved in the disastrous clinical trials at Northwick Park.

Leading scientists have raised serious concerns about the study into the effectiveness of drugs used to treat MS.

Initially the study was being carried out by an established team at Sheffield University, but it has now been switched to Parexel - the company who was responsible for the disastrous clinical trials at Northwick Park.

A spokesperson for Alexander Harris, who are acting on behalf of the two most seriously injured participants of the Northwick Park drug trials said

"It is surprising that this study should choose to involve a company who is currently under investigation and it leaves many unanswered questions about the quality of results this study will yield."

One of the world's experts on Multiple Sclerosis (MS), whose research data was being used by the team at Sheffield University raised concern that a clinical research organisation was taking over responsibility for the trial from a group of leading scientists.
